HAIDER MIRZA plays the Indian Sitar and Afghan Rabab in the pursuit of the Indian Classical music tradition as well as his enjoyment of the regional folk music tunes from India, Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan.

He learns the Indian classical Sitar from Sitar maestro Ustad Anwar Khurshid in Toronto, Canada and learns the Rabab from the talented Rabab artist Liaquat Homayoun in Karachi, Pakistan.

Haider is grateful to those brave artists who make Rabab instruments and Rabab music, putting their life at risk in the face of violence against music from some extremist groups in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and hopes that the love of music and the Rabab will prevail over hatred and violence!
